Raymond brings two decades of risk management and quantitative research in the financial sector to his role. Before joining Trading Central, Raymond worked at BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, and Barclays Capital. He has an MBA from New York University, a Masters’ degree in Computer Science from City University of New York, and is a charterholder of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
We sat down with Raymond to learn more about his new role, the projects he’s working on, and his experience joining the Trading Central team.
I really like Trading Central’s reputation for fintech innovation, can-do attitude, and no-nonsense mentality. It’s a global company driving disruptive change across the industry, yet feels like a family where every team member is heard and valued. It’s a very cool and fun place to work, with a great diversity of people with different backgrounds, experiences, and personalities.
In this role, I contribute to the financial modeling and structuring of financial products. This includes, but is certainly not limited to project management, coding, and troubleshooting. I also work with other teams such as TC’s global analysts, sales, IT, UX and marketing to brainstorm new ideas and exchange knowledge on our shared journey to bring snackable, layered analytics to brokers that are simple to interpret and engaging for their users.
TC Quantamental Rating was recently rolled out within multiple Trading Central products and was my first project after joining. Its concise, high-level view of how a stock is performing across 20 different financial metrics will be so helpful to investors of all skill levels. The speed at which we were able to create such a powerful value add for customers really showed the company’s agility, robustness, and dedication to new innovation.
As the innovation unit for Trading Central, I want TC Labs to be at the forefront of new ideas and cutting-edge technologies. My goal is to build upon an international reputation for providing high-value products and services that help brokers globally support their clients throughout each stage of their investment journey.
Yes! Two of my favourite quotes that inspire me are:
The famous Paris Garnier Opera is directly across the street from our office, so I pass by it every morning and you can see it from every window. Being in the heart of Paris, there’s no shortage of cafes and restaurants, making it easy to grab a quick coffee or lunch with my team. We have a very inclusive, collaborative group here at the Paris office (and across TC!) and I’ve really enjoyed working with so many like-minded people.
Be flexible, curious, and ready to “work hard and play hard”. Like I mentioned before, the team has a very innovative, can-do attitude so don’t be afraid to think outside the box, ask questions and share your ideas. Be ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work alongside great management and collaborative colleagues.
