How we got here

Our story began in 1999, when our founders, working in the City of London, recognized a gap in the market for actionable investment analytics. A few months later, TradingCentral.com was born in Paris, France, with a mission to bring technical analysis to equity traders online by paid subscription.

2000
French President Jacques CHIRAC visited to congratulate the promising project. The online broadcast “Before the Bell” was recorded from Trading Central’s in-house trading room ahead of the US market open covering economic releases and trending stocks. At the same time in Canada, Recognia, then patternrecognizer.com was founded with a focus on delivering analytical data to brokerages through API.

2002
By 2002, institutional demand was growing and Trading Central was ready to expand for the first time. Its second office was established in London, UK to provide local support to trading floors within the City. In the continued aftermath of the .com bubble bust, Trading Central officially drops the “.com” from their company name and patternrecognizer.com rebrands as “Recognia”. This crystalizes two brands that would become renowned for superior technical analysis across the globe. 

2003 
Investors access to automated chart pattern recognition for the very first time as Technical Insight is officially launched through a Canadian broker. This marked the debut of what would become TC’s signature: premium investment analytics within white-labeled, customizable interfaces.

2005
Shortly after, Trading Central enters the forex space for the very first time. Language support expands to a handful of European languages to support this new focus. 

2006
The first North American office was opened in New York, USA to expand both sales and analyst coverage with an emphasis on content within local timezones. 

2008
While a turbulent year for global markets, 2008 was one of substantial growth for Trading Central as the company zeroed in on its online brokerage offering. In France, the company moved into its new headquarters in Paris’ 9th arrondissement, directly across from the famous Palais Garniers opera house, where it continues to manage global operations to this day. Awards & recognition (display)Investorside® Excellence Award: TRADING CENTRAL received the highest award from Investorside Research Association, in recognition for its consistent OUTPERFORMANCE and for achieving the Number 1 INVESTARS rank in 2008.Integrity Research® Best Research ProviderIn October 2008 TRADING CENTRAL ranked Number 1 Research in terms of “Batting Averages” amongst US research brokers and alternative providers ( www.integrity-research.com).

2009 
The first annual Online Broker Summit was hosted in 2009. Beginning with Recognia customers, the event took place in an Ottawa boardroom followed by a hockey night- an ode to the company’s Canadian roots. Trading Central’s video offering is relaunched as” WebTV”, broadcasting market updates and trending instruments from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange in a format brokerages could share across their websites and early social media platforms. 

2010
The forex side of the business has grown substantially, now with over 30 languages supported and an office established in Hong Kong to offer local support to clients in the Asia Pacific region. This is a monumental step forward for Trading Central as a global company– providing 24 hour coverage to customers, leading to the slogan Markets Never Sleep

2014
Trading Central commemorates its 15th anniversary in a big way- entering an agreement to acquire Recognia. This adds software development to the company’s strengths, forming one unified powerhouse in global research and fintech innovation. Over the next few years, the Trading Central will leverage this unique DNA to refine virtually every aspect of their product suite to best serve online brokerages and their investing customers. Awards:Best Forex Forecast and Strategy Provider MENA Forex 2014.

2016
With a growing number of customers in the area, Trading Central opens its doors to Cyprus to offer best in class support. 

2017
Mobile usage across the globe is growing and with it, responsive design and compact scores becoming standard consumer expectations. Following 14 years of success across North America, Technical Insight is fully redesigned. This raises the bar amongst the investment community for responsive design, personalized ideas, interactive charting and actionable analytics. An office is opened in Shanghai to serve the demand from the Mainland China’s industry titans and a dedicated team is established in Sydney for the first time. 

2018
AwardsTechnical Insight wins the Technical Analyst Awards.

2019 
Having become the global go-to for Technical Analysis, Trading Central sets its sights on how best to support investors and brokers alike amid rising volatility. The answer? Expanding beyond their initial niche to offer insights that span fundamental, news, sentiment and economic analytics. The internal think tank “TC Labs” is opened in Nice dedicated to building new AI algorithms. Their first innovation- a specialized natural-language processing engine (or NLP) trained by in-house market analysts to offer specialized financial insight.This is the backbone of AI News analytics tool “TC Market Buzz”, which was launched live to over 100 leaders in online brokerage at the 10th edition of the Online Broker Summit in Chicago. This is closely followed up with TC Economic Insight bringing volatility and impact analysis to FX traders, marking major milestones in the company’s product expansion. A second development office is opened in Bucharest to back the expanded product suite. 

2020
As trading levels surged, we continued to innovate on ways to best support our brokerage customers: We instantly expanded our server capacity to accommodate unforeseen spikes in demand across our APIs and iframes.Supportive functionality like gated “freemium” versions of our products were introduced to better support customer marketing strategies, and we hosted the first virtual Summit to keep the industry connected throughout continued lockdowns. Awards:TC Market Buzz, A.I. news analysis tool wins Most Innovative New Product at the Technical Analyst Awards.

2021 
TC Fundamental Insight brought long-awaited disruption to the fundamentals space with Quantamental Rating at its core. A proprietary analytic, it compresses over 20 analytics into a high-level score proven to outperform the market. Awards: TC Crowd Insight, A.I. sentiment analysis tool wins Best A.I. Product: Trading at the Technical Analyst Awards.

2022
Now a comprehensive one-stop-shop for investment decision support, Trading Central focused on refining and strengthening its tools.—earning multiple accolades.

2023 
The Online Broker Summit was rebranded to Digital Wealth Events to reflect the evolving nature of the industry. The program expanded to include smaller editions across Europe, Australia, and Asia.

2024 
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, over 100 employees from 16 global offices gathered in Evian, France. This milestone honored a quarter-century of fintech innovation and partnerships with revered brokerage brands, marking Trading Central’s enduring commitment to improving the investor experience.
